IT'S Fall Class: The Art of Longform
Thursdays 18:30-21:30 (September 14 - December 14)
This course will give you a smorgasbord of the different tools needed to improvise all kinds of long form improv – narrative, non-narrative, free-form, structured etc. You can take this class if you want to start doing long-form improv or if you have been doing long form for a while and want to strengthen your skills. You will work on different editing techniques (from sweep edits and tag outs to voice edits, morphing edits, narrations and more). You will practice when to cut scenes and explore different ways/ideas to connect scenes. We will explore how time jumps (both back and forward in time) can deepen and advance our stories. We will also look at classic storytelling and how we can apply dramaturgic curves to our stories, creating protagonists, antagonists etc.

"Except for being one of my favourite improvisers on the Swedish improv scene, Katarina has a fantastic way of inspiring and encouraging me in class. Her personality and deep knowledge have filled me with enthusiasm and helped me reach new levels as an improviser. She has an extraordinary skill in understanding and pinpointing students' next individual steps of development and she gives feedback in a very safe and caring way."
